Cuivridone
Cuivridone is the Copper salt of L-PCA. Cuivridone is used to regulate sebaceous gland activity by reducing the level of skin sebum. Cuivridone has a characteristic blue lagoon colour.
UCIB (part of The Solabia Group) specialises in the research and development of innovative chemical active ingredients, and is particularly strong in the area of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) and its derivatives. L-PCA is part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and has moisturising and hydrating properties. L-PCA is obtained by the cyclisation of the L-Glutamic Acid, an amino acid of plant origin. Derivatives of L-PCA also have other benefits.
Cuivridone is the Copper salt of L-PCA. Copper is one of the body's essential trace elements. A combination of Copper and Zinc can be used in cosmetics for potential astringency on the skin's surface and anti-microbial properties. Cuivridone, a combination of copper and L-PCA, is used to regulate sebaceous gland activity by reducing the level of skin sebum. It is recommended for use in formulations for oily skin. Cuivridone has a characteristic blue lagoon colour.
