Laurydone
Laurydone is the Lauryl Ester of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid). Laurydone is a lipophilic PCA ester that has a dual moisturising action from formation of a film on the skin's surface and release of L-PCA over time.
UCIB (part of The Solabia Group) specialises in the research and development of innovative chemical active ingredients, and is particularly strong in the area of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) and its derivatives. L-PCA is part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and has moisturising and hydrating properties. L-PCA is obtained by the cyclisation of the L-Glutamic Acid, an amino acid of plant origin. Derivatives of L-PCA also have other benefits.
Laurydone is the Lauryl Ester of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid). Laurydone is a lipophilic PCA ester that has a dual moisturising action:
Immediate skin moisturisation due to the formation of a hydrolipidic film on the skin's surface
Preservation of an optimal moisturising level due to L-PCA that is released over time
