Waxidone
Waxidone is an optimised mixture of the Lauryl and Behenyl esters of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid), recommended for use in lipsticks for shine and emollience.
UCIB (part of The Solabia Group) specialises in the research and development of innovative chemical active ingredients, and is particularly strong in the area of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) and its derivatives. L-PCA is part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and has moisturising and hydrating properties. L-PCA is obtained by the cyclisation of the L-Glutamic Acid, an amino acid of plant origin. Derivatives of L-PCA also have other benefits.
Waxidone is an optimised mixture of the Lauryl and Behenyl esters of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid). Due to its waxy structure and soft texture, Waxidone is recommended for use in lipstick formulations where it can impart shine and emollience.
