Zincidone
Zincidone is the Zinc salt of L-PCA. Zincidone can help to regulate the activity of the sebaceous glands and reduce the level of skin sebum.
UCIB (part of The Solabia Group) specialises in the research and development of innovative chemical active ingredients, and is particularly strong in the area of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) and its derivatives. L-PCA is part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and has moisturising and hydrating properties. L-PCA is obtained by the cyclisation of the L-Glutamic Acid, an amino acid of plant origin. Derivatives of L-PCA also have other benefits.
Zincidone is the Zinc salt of L-PCA. Zinc is known for its action in inhibiting 5-α-reductase and as a specific trace element for seboregulation. Zincidone can help to regulate the activity of the sebaceous glands and reduce the level of skin sebum. Its action on bacterial proliferation, notably on Propionibacterium acnes, can help to limit skin irritation.
