Calcidone
Calcidone is the Calcium salt of L-PCA. Calcidone can help to reactivate cellular cohesion to help restore the epidermis, and also help to prevent dermal fibre degradation.
UCIB (part of The Solabia Group) specialises in the research and development of innovative chemical active ingredients, and is particularly strong in the area of L-PCA (L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) and its derivatives. L-PCA is part of the skin's Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) and has moisturising and hydrating properties. L-PCA is obtained by the cyclisation of the L-Glutamic Acid, an amino acid of plant origin. Derivatives of L-PCA also have other benefits.
