MST-547 is a polymer microsphere with an average particle size of 4.5 microns, oil absorption 54 g/100g and refractive index 1.41. MST-547 has a low refractive index which imparts an excellent soft focus effect. MST-547 can be transparent in silicones. Due to their size and shape, microspheres offer a ball-bearing effect which imparts a silky texture, increased pay-off and enhanced slip. Microspheres are also able to offer a soft focus effect by scattering light to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst still letting enough light through to give a natural appearance on the skin.
