YELLOW 5AL-FS08 is Yellow 5 Lake that has been surface treated with Kobo's FS (Fluoro Silane) treatment. FS treatment is an innovative, environmentally agreeable Fluoro Silane treatment that renders powders both hydrophobic and lipophobic. FS treated powders are highly suitable for dry water foundations and pressed powders. This can be shown in pressed powders where both water droplets and oil droplets will bead (non-wetting) on the surface. FS treatment provides excellent spreading and adhesion to the skin, which can contribute to long-wear, even in the presence of sebum and water. By repelling sebum on the skin, the darkening of pigments is less noticeable in comparison to other surface treatments. FS treatment can also help to prevent agglomeration of powders in fine lines and wrinkles.
