KSG-042Z
KSG-042Z is a non-emulsifying silicone gel that is compatible with both silicone and hydrocarbon oils. KSG-042Z can be used to improve the structural viscosity and stability of formulations. KSG-042Z contains 15-25% cross-linked polymer in Isododecane.
Shin-Etsu's KSG series consists of cross-linked silicone polymers that are combined with a silicone fluid or oil to form a gel. These silicone gels can be used as thickening agents for the oil phase of formulations, which can help with water-in-oil emulsion stability. KSG-042Z is a non-emulsifying silicone gel that contains a cross-linked silicone with a 3-dimensional network structure. The cross-linked polymer in KSG-042Z has both silicone branching and hydrocarbon-based alkyl branching which makes the gel compatible with both silicone and hydrocarbon oils. KSG-042Z can be used to improve the structural viscosity and stability of water-in-oil and oil-in-water emulsions, and anhydrous formulations. KSG-042Z contains 15-25% cross-linked polymer in Isododecane and has a refractive index of 1.418 (at 25 °C).
