FAS50YTB
FAS50YTB is a dispersion containing 50% surface treated Yellow Iron Oxide in volatile silicones and silicone emulsifiers.
Kobo's pigmentary dispersions are widely used in colour cosmetics due to their multiple benefits over dry pigment powders. Dry pigments tend to aggregate in formulations which can affect the color strength, gloss and opacity. The colour intensity and opacity are usually highest when the aggregate particle size is closest to the primary particle size. The pigments in Kobo's pigmentary dispersions are surface treated to improve the ease of dispersion and stability. Kobo's pigmentary dispersions offer full colour development, improved gloss and ease of use.
FAS50YTB is a dispersion containing 50% Yellow Iron Oxide in volatile silicones and silicone emulsifiers. The pigments are surface treated with Kobo's patented TTB treatment prior to dispersion. TTB treatment combines the hydrophobic (but not very lipophilic) properties of a silicone treatment with the lipophilic (but not particularly hydrophobic) ITT titanate treatment. This hybrid treatment therefore provides a coating that is both hydrophobic and lipophilic, making treated powders readily dispersible in both silicones and organic esters and hydrocarbons. TTB treatment has better affinity for the skin compared to silicone treatments, and it is very stable over a wide pH range. TTB treated powders exhibit water resistance which can improve the wear of powders, anhydrous formulations and water-in-oil emulsions.
FAS dispersions are recommended for use in emulsions (e.g. liquid and cream foundation, concealer, mascara, blush) and may also be used in anhydrous formulations (e.g. lipstick, eyeshadow, concealer).
