Naturechem GMHS

Naturechem GMHS is a solid emollient that functions as a secondary emulsifier (HLB 3.4) and thickener. It is a great alternative to Glyceryl Stearate (GMS).

Naturechem GMHS is a solid emollient that is a great alternative to Glyceryl Stearate (GMS) because it can reduce the soap requirements in TEA-Stearate emulsions. It is incorporated into the oil phase of oil-in-water emulsions where it functions as a secondary emulsifier (HLB 3.4) and thickener. Owing to its occlusivity, it reduces trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) and in addition acts as a humectant. It is recommended for use in creams and lotions, anhydrous sticks, lipsticks and lip balms.
