SUNPMMA-S PLUS is a non-porous polymer microsphere with an average particle size of 13 microns and oil absorption 0.45 cc/g. SUNPMMA-S PLUS is a pure PMMA bead with 0 ppm residual monomer. This distinguishes it from other PMMA beads whose high residual monomer content can result in unpleasant odours, especially in emulsions.

SUNPMMA-S PLUS has a slightly hydrophobic surface making it easy to incorporate into water-in-oil and water-in-silicone formulations such as liquid foundations and sun creams. Since the microsphere is made from an inert polymer with no metal ions, SUNPMMA-S PLUS is also suitable for oil-in-water emulsions that contain polymeric thickeners. SUNPMMA-S PLUS is recommended for use in colour cosmetics due to its great spreadability and silky feel.
